Royal Caribbean up after quarterly profit beat

** Shares of cruise operator Royal Caribbean RCL.N up ~6% at $269.82 premarket

** Co posts Q1 adjusted profit of $3.60 per share vs. estimates of $3.19 per share, according to data compiled by LSEG

** Shares of rivals Norwegian Cruise Line NCLH.N and Carnival CCL.N also up ~2%

** However, RCL cuts its annual profit forecast, signaling surging fuel costs linked to ongoing tensions in Middle East are weighing on margins

** Sees annual fuel costs based on current at-the-pump rates, net of hedging, of ~$1.3 billion, or $0.62 per share, higher than prior forecast

** Bookings moderated in March, early April for Mediterranean and West Coast of Mexico itineraries due to geopolitical developments, but have now recovered and are currently running at higher pace than same time last year, co says

** Up to last close, RCL has fallen ~9% YTD, while NCLH and CCL down about 20% and 16% each
