Poland's CD Projekt first quarter net profit falls 4.5%

- Poland's biggest game developer CD Projekt CDR.WA on Thursday reported a 4.5% fall in first-quarter net profit compared with the previous year due to higher costs.


  • Net profit was 106.2 million zlotys ($29.3 million) beating analysts' expectations of 97 million zlotys seen in Reuters poll

  • Revenue for the period rose 6.1% to 191.1 million zlotys

  • Plans to release third expansion to blockbuster The Witcher 3 in 2027

  • "This third full-fledged expansion (...) is currently at an advanced stage of development," joint CEO Michał Nowakowski said in the statement

  • The Witcher 3 has reached the 65 million cumulative sales threshold

  • "We had a solid revenue stream in the first three months of the year – primarily due to strong sales of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3," CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said

  • He added that the company is "well prepared to further intensify parallel development work on several projects"
