Oct 30 (Reuters) - MEG Energy MEG.TO paused the shareholder meeting to vote on the Cenovus Energy CVE.TO takeover bid on Thursday, to address a "regulatory inquiry" it received on Wednesday evening.
Board chair James McFarland said there would be a recess and the meeting would now be held at 4:00 p.m. ET, which was earlier scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET.
The details of the inquiry were not provided. MEG, Cenovus and the regulators did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment.
