Wall Street's key indexes gained on Thursday as investors assessed the latest
batch of economic data and looked towards a key inflation metric and any signs
of progress on a U.S. funding bill.  .N 
    
    At 12:48 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.53% at
33,728.43. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.84% at 4,310.42 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 1.18% at 13,247.808.
