ASUNCION, April 8 (Reuters) - Panama's top diplomat on Wednesday said the country has seen a rise in inspections and detentions of Panama-flagged vessels in China as a result of a Panama court ruling against Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison.
Speaking at a conference in Paraguay's capital Asuncion, Panamanian Foreign Minister Javier Martinez-Acha said Panama asks China and any other country to respect its legal sovereignty and hopes that the trend reverses.
