Appointment of Jersey Resident Independent Non-Executive Director

 

CleanTech Lithium PLC (AIM: CTL), an exploration and development company advancing sustainable lithium projects in Chile, announces that it has appointed a new Jersey resident independent non-executive director, Paul Atherton, with immediate effect.

Mr Atherton is an experienced public company director and Chartered Accountant and brings considerable financial expertise to the Board. After graduating in Geology from Imperial College, London he transitioned to a financial career qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte & Touche. He worked in corporate finance at BDO Stoy Hayward and then a number of resource companies focused on sub- Saharan Africa before joining Heritage Oil (becoming one of the largest oil and gas company listed on the main board of the London Stock Exchange and a member of the FTSE 250) as Chief Financial Officer and then Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director. After 18 years with Heritage Oil he left to develop his interests as an angel investor and board director in a diversified portfolio of businesses including natural resources, technology and healthcare. Mr Atherton will also assume the role of Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.

With the appointment of Mr Atherton, the Company´s Board is now made up of 3 directors as follows:

-      Independent Non-Executive Chairman - Steve Kesler

-      Independent Non-Executive Director - Paul Atherton

-      CEO - Ignacio Mehech

The Company´s Board now comprises two Independent Non-Executive Directors and one Executive Director and is in full compliance with the QCA Code on Board composition
