BUZZ-UK's Coats jumps on higher first-half profit
** Shares of British thread manufacturer Coats Group COA.L up as much as 8.5% at 84.2p
** Posts 18.6% rise in H1 operating profit to $166 million from a year earlier, driven by a $29 million contribution from the OrthoLite and VizLite acquisitions
** Expects H2 comparators materially easier, leaves annual expectations unchanged
** Peel Hunt analysts say "Coats continues to prove the resilience of its business model by maintaining margins and generating good free cash flow during periods of adverse market conditions"
** YTD, stock down 4.6%
