Colgate Palmolive India's quarterly adjusted profit rises on demand for premium products

May 22 (Reuters) - Colgate Palmoilve (India) COLG.NS posted a 2.7% rise in adjusted quarterly profit on Friday, supported by growing demand for its premium segment.

Here are some details:

The toothpaste maker's profit before exceptional items and taxes rose to 4.91 billion rupees ($51.3 million), from 4.78 billion rupees a year ago

The company recorded a one-time charge of 165.8 million rupees related to severance and other restructuring charges

The premium segment, which includes oral beauty and whitening, is expanding at three times the pace of the overall company

Revenue from operations rose 9% to 15.83 billion rupees, with domestic net sales increasing by 9.2%

Expenses rose 11.7%, hurt by higher raw material costs, driven by a war-related jump in crude prices
