Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told Milano Finanza that she hopes UniCredit CRDI.MI will retain its Italian roots and establish a constructive dialogue with German authorities as it pursues its takeover of Germany's Commerzbank CBKG.DE.
Asked about Intesa Sanpaolo's ISP.MI unsolicited bid for Monte dei Paschi di Siena BMPS.MI, she said she hoped MPS would not be broken up and lose its name and identity.

NEXI NEXII.MI 
State lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) is preparing to increase its stake in payments group Nexi to as much as 27.6% of the company's share capital, and the increase is likely to be completed in the autumn, Corriere della Sera reported, citing financial sources.
