U.S. stock indexes rose on Monday at the start of the final quarter of a
tumultuous year in which investors fretted about aggressive interest rate hikes
against the backdrop of historically hot inflation and fears of slowing economic
growth.  .N 
    At 14:06 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 2.63% at
29,480.55. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 2.53% at 3,676.32 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 2.12% at 10,799.6.
