NEW YORK, Oct 13 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Charlie Ergen
set up Dish and is now in talks to sell Boost Mobile to the
blank-check firm he also backs, putting him across the
negotiating table from himself. There are ways for Dish to get
an arm’s-length partnership with Boost but adding SPACs
brings unnecessary conflicts.

Special-purpose acquisition company Conx is in talks with
satellite television and wireless communications company Dish
Network about potentially acquiring its Boost Mobile division,
according to an Oct. 13 filing with the U.S. Securities and
Exchange Commission.
Dish Chairman Charlie Ergen is the founder and chairman of
Conx. He exercises over 90% voting control at Dish through a
dual-class share structure.
