US energy stocks fall amid Ukraine peace report

** S&P 500 energy index .SPNY falls 0.8% as oil prices edge lower O/R

** Brent crude LCOc1 down 1.9% at $62.15/barrel and U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures CLc1 slip 1.21% at $57.63/barrel

** Oil prices fall after U.S. media reports cite a U.S. official saying that Ukraine had agreed to a peace deal

** Oil majors Exxon Mobil XOM.N and Chevron CVX.N both down ~1%

** Valero Energy, VLO.N, Coterra Energy  CTRA.N, Devon Energy  DVN.N and Expand Energy EXE.O fall between 1.4% and ~2%; among biggest percent decliners on the energy index

** Refiners Phillips 66 PSX.N down marginally and Marathon Petroleum MPC.N dips ~1%

** Oilfield services company Halliburton HAL.N and Baker Hughes BKR.O down marginally
