The following factors could affect Italian markets on Tuesday.

    POLITICS
    Italy's cabinet on Monday approved a 40% windfall tax on
banks for 2023, with proceedings to be used to help mortgage
holders and cut taxes, the deputy prime minister said.
    
    A group of airlines operating in Italy on Monday criticised
government plans to curb ticket prices at the height of the
summer season, saying they could breach European Union free
market rules.
    
    Italy's government has earmarked 2.9 million euros to tackle
the spread of a particularly aggressive crab species that is
threatening the country's role as one of the world's top
producers of clams.
    
    Italy on Monday dropped plans to raise limits on
electromagnetic emissions which mobile telecoms operators
complain are too low compared with other European countries,
according to ANSA news agency.
    
    
    DEBT
    Italy's Treasury said on Monday it would offer 8 billion
euros in bills at an auction on August 10.
    
    
    COMPANIES
    Milan Stock Exchange After Hours market closed.
    
    CREDITO EMILIANO  EMBI.MI 
    The bank said on Monday its net profit jumped over 90% to
298.7 million euros in the first half of the year, lifted by the
positive trend of the net interest income and by the low cost of
risk.

    BANCA MONTE DEI PASCHI  BMPS.MI 
    Italy's main banking union FABI said on Monday it had
reached a deal with state-owned Monte dei Paschi di Siena to
introduce a 500-euro bonus for the lender's employees and
discuss potential hirings starting from Sept., after the Tuscan
bank shed a fifth of its employees at the end of last year.
    
    PRYSMIAN  PRY.MI  
    Cablemaker Prysmian will pay employees in its own home
Italian market a 5,000 euro ($5,485) baby bonus for each newborn
child and offer similar perks in other parts of the world to
support families and help combat low birth rates.
    
    GREENTHESIS  GTHS.MI 
    The company said on Monday its unit Ambienthesis Middle East
DMCC had won a contract worth around 100,000 euros in the United
Arab Emirates. 
    
    BANCA POPOLARE DI SONDRIO  BPSI.MI 
    Board meeting on H1 results, followed by conference call
(1400 GMT).
    
    COVER 50  COV.MI 
    Second of two-day suspension from negotiation ahead of
de-listing on Aug. 9.
    
    
    DIARY
    Rome, Industry Minister Adolfo Urso convenes via
videoconference representatives from metalworkers' trade unions,
ahead of the transition agreement between the government and
Stellantis  STLAM.MI  (0830 GMT).
    Rome, Environment Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin holds
closed-door meeting with five people from Ultima Generazione
(1300 GMT); followed by press point by Ultima Generazione
outside the ministry (1400 GMT).
