Australia's Venture Minerals rises on start of surveys at nickel-copper project

** Shares of Venture Minerals Ltd  VMS.AX  rise as much as
8.3% to A$0.026, their highest since Nov. 29 
    ** Mineral explorer says JV partner Chalice Mining  CHN.AX 
has begun airborne electromagnetic surveys and geochemical
sampling program at its South West Project, Western Australia
    ** CHN holds 51% of the South West Project, with the rest
held by VMS
    ** Adds surveys and sampling program done by CHN to further
delineate two new interpreted magmatic nickel-copper-PGE sulfide
targets discovered earlier this year
    ** CHN down 1.1% as at 0356 GMT, after advancing as much as
2.3%
    ** VMS posts its biggest intraday pct gain since Nov. 30;
down 44.2% this year, as of last close
