The S&P 500 and Nasdaq index rose on Thursday, boosted by gains in Microsoft and
PayPal, but Vice President Mike Pence's comments on China rekindled worries
ahead of trade talks. .N

26,774.52. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 0.06% at 3,006.2 and the Nasdaq Composite
.IXIC was up 0.61% at 8,169.423.
