POLITICS
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met Joel Kaplan, the chief global affairs officer of U.S. tech giant Meta META.O, to discuss possible new investments in Italy, Meloni's office said on Thursday.
ECONOMY
Italy urged that there be no backtracking on a major international taxation agreement at the G20 talks in South Africa, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Thursday, adding that unilateral approaches would discourage investment.
ISTAT releases January non-EU foreign trade data (0900 GMT) and February CPI flash data (1000 GMT).

Former CEO Carlos Tavares saw his total pay fall 37% last year to 23 million euros before he unexpectedly resigned in December. Tavares will receive an additional 2 million euros in severance and 10 million euros in bonus pay this year for meeting a series of company milestones, the automaker said in a regulatory filing Thursday.
MONTE DEI PASCHI (MPS) BMPS.MI
Italian tycoon Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone increased its stake in Banca Monte dei Paschi to 8%, Italian daily La Stampa reported on Thursday on its website. Caltagirone and MPS declined to comment.
BANCO BPM BAMI.MI
Italian market watchdog Consob said in a Thursday filing that Deutsche Bank DBKGn.DE held a 5.181% stake in Banco BPM as of February 19.

The insurer could finalise its asset management tie-up with France's Natixis "well before the summer", daily Il Sole 24 Ore wrote on Friday.
Separately, newspaper Il Messaggero, owned by Generali investor Caltagirone, criticised in a Friday editorial the possible decision to bring forward the date of the shareholders' meeting to April 24, noting it could also imply the postponement of the record date to April 9. It also recalled that shareholder Delfin, which has in the past backed Caltagirone's positions, is waiting for several countries' authorisation to raise its stake up to 20%.
La Repubblica wrote on Friday that Caltagirone intends to raise his stake in Generali beyond the current 6.9% and has reduced the cost of his current investment through the use of put&call derivative contracts with Banca Finnat, which would allow him to cut his stake after the shareholders' meeting.

The payments company on Friday posted full-year core profit and revenues in line with a company-provided consensus, and proposed a dividend of 0.25 euros per share worth around 300 million euros and a buyback programme also worth some 300 million euros.

Italian market watchdog Consob said in a Thursday filing that Goldman Sachs had cut its stake in Anima Holding to 2.339% as of February 19, from the previous 4.73%.

The Italian energy group reported a 46% slide in fourth-quarter adjusted net profit on Thursday, hit by lower energy prices and weakness at its refining, biofuel and chemicals divisions. The state-controlled group said it would add the two new businesses to its renewable and retail unit, Plenitude, and its biofuel division Enilive.
DOVALUE DOVA.MI
Italy's biggest bad loan manager returned to profit in 2024 helped by lower depreciation and amortization on intangibles, it said on Thursday.
JUVENTUS JUVE.MI
The Italian soccer club on Thursday swung to a 17 million euro ($18 million) profit in the first half of its fiscal year, as its return to Europe's lucrative elite club competition Champions League boosted revenues.

Algeria approved on Thursday a concession contract for a $420-million project by BF to produce grains, as part of the North African country's plan to boost national production.
