POLITICS

U.S. President Donald Trump said he plans to speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday and discuss ending the war in Ukraine, after positive talks between U.S. and Russian officials in Moscow.

The United States drew closer to its G7 allies on Friday, overcoming differences, at least momentarily, to back Ukraine's territorial integrity and warn Russia to follow Kyiv in accepting a ceasefire or face possible further sanctions.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Saturday that Western allies other than the U.S. were stepping up preparations to support Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire with Russia, with defence chiefs set to firm up "robust plans" next week.

DEBT

European Union authorities are considering an accounting change that would increase Italy's towering public debt, two sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters, adding the Italian authorities were in negotiation.

ECONOMY

Italy is preparing an industrial plan aimed at fostering connections between its automotive, defence and aerospace sectors, to be unveiled in June, Industry Minister Adolfo Urso said on Sunday in an interview with Il Messaggero.

The minister also said the national space agency was near conclusion of its feasibility study for building "low-orbit satellites that will also ensure national security".

COMPANIES

BANCO BPM BAMI.MI, ANIMA HOLDING ANIM.MI

The lender starts its voluntary full takeover bid on Anima Holding's ordinary shares; ends on April 4.

Banco Bpm believes that a 45% plus one share of the capital, although not sufficient to approve a merger, would still allow it to pursue its integration plans and industrial strategies, as shown in the offer document published after Consob's green light.

STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

The automaker plans to shift production of Maserati brand cars to one of its most underused factories, from Turin to Modena, as Chairman John Elkann continues efforts to repair relations with the Italian government, Bloomberg reported on Friday citing people familiar with the situation.

AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR

In a meeting with unions and industry representatives on Friday, Italy's Industry Minister Adolfo Urso said Rome would make 2.5 billion euros available, over three years, to support the country's car parts suppliers.

LEONARDO LDOF.MI

The group's aerostructures business is expected to receive a new order from Airbus AIR.PA, already a customer of the division for the supply of components for the A321 and A220 planes, Italian newswire Radiocor reported on Friday. The French group is finalising an order for components for the A220 that will be produced at Leonardo's plants in Nola and Pomigliano, the report added.

STMICROELECTRONICS STMMI.MI

The deputy chairman of the group's supervisory board, Maurizio Tamagnini, appointed by state lender CDP - which holds 27.5% of the company - has expressed his willingness to resign from his post, as an expression of Rome's disappointment with the management of CEO Jean Marc Chery.

DIASORIN DIAS.MI

The medical diagnostics group on Friday reported a 3% rise in 2024 revenue, citing dampened demand for its products with a milder Flu season compared to the previous year. For 2025, the company expects double-digit revenue growth in the U.S. and high single-digit revenue growth in Europe, its CEO said.

MFE-MEDIAFOREUROPE MFEB.MI

The supervisory board of ProSiebenSat.1 PSMGn.DE met on Sunday to discuss a potential deal that could hand U.S. private equity firm General Atlantic a minority stake in the German broadcaster, two sources close to the matter told Reuters.

MFE is the main shareholder of ProSieben with a stake of amost 30%.

 Italy's government will not exercise its special power of veto - under the so-called golden power law- on the bid launched by Banca Ifis IF.MI on digital bank illimity ILTY.MI, a statement said on Monday.

Gewiss Spa starts mandatory full takeover bid on Beghelli ordinary shares; ends on April 4.

Juventus are keeping faith with manager Thiago Motta for now despite his side suffering a second successive heavy defeat on Sunday, director Cristiano Giuntoli said.

Fiorentina romped to a 3-0 home win over Juventus in their Serie A clash.

Juventus are fifth with 52 points, one point behind fourth-placed Bologna, who leapfrogged Motta's side with a 5-0 thumping of visitors Lazio earlier on Sunday.
