POLITICS

Italy and India will seek to reinforce diplomatic and trade ties during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Rome by elevating their relationship to that of a special strategic partnership, an Italian government official said on Tuesday.

Greece's Alpha Bank ACBr.AT, in which UniCredit holds a 29.8% stake, reported lower first-quarter adjusted net earnings on Wednesday, as weaker income from financial operations and higher staff costs weighed on performance.

The state-controlled aerospace and defence group said on Wednesday it had signed a 320 million euro contract with Abu Dhabi Ship Building, the naval arm of Emirati defence group EDGE,  to provide next generation naval combat systems for the Falaj 3 configuration for the Kuwait navy 'Al Dorra' missile boat program.

The auto maker is due to announce a joint venture with Dongfeng 600006.SS and a deal to build at least one fully electric Voyah brand vehicle for the state-owned Chinese carmaker at the Franco-Italian company's factory in Rennes, France, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The engineering group said on Wednesday it has been awarded additional works related to previously announced orders, with projects located across Asia, Europe and the Americas. It added that the new awards include a large-scale onshore project to be performed by Tecnimont and licensing and process design package activities for a urea plant for Nextchem's subsidiary Stamicarbon.

TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI

The phone group said on Tuesday that 93.5% of the group's savings shares were converted voluntarily at the end of the conversion period, for a total cash payment of 676.1 million euros. It added that savings shares will be delisted starting from May 21, after the mandatory conversion of the remaining shares.

PIRELLI PIRC.MI

The tyremaker said on Tuesday that the three-year shareholders' agreement between China National tire & Rubber Corporation (CNRC), China's Sinochem 600500.SS unit Marco Polo International Italy, Camfin and Marco Tronchetti Provera& C. had expired.

ENEL ENEI.MI

Enel has launched on the Eurobond market a bond in two tranches intended exclusively for qualified investors for a total of 2.5 billion euros.

Barclays said on Wednesday it initiated coverage of the water heating company with an 'underweight' rating and a target price of 3.10 euros.
