("DP Eurasia" or the "Company")
Directorate Change
DP Eurasia (DPEU.L), the master franchisee of the Domino's Pizza brand in
Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, is pleased to announce the appointment
of Mr. Ahmet Fadil Ashaboğlu as Chairman of the Board. He is an existing
Independent Non-Executive Director, having been appointed to the Board in
September 2022, and will replace Mr. Peter Williams who has made the decision
not to stand for re-election after six years as Chairman. Mr. Ashaboğlu's
appointment as Chairman will be effective immediately following the 2023 AGM
and is conditional upon shareholder approval of his re-appointment to the
Board at the AGM, which will be held in June 2023.
Mr. Ashaboğlu holds a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University and a Master
of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), both in
Mechanical Engineering. He began his career as a Research Assistant at MIT in
1994, and held various positions in capital markets within UBS Warburg, New
York (1996-1999). After serving as a management consultant at McKinsey &
Company, New York (1999-2003), he moved back to Turkey and joined Koc Holding
as Finance Group Coordinator in 2003. He was appointed Group Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) in 2006, serving until April 2022. He is currently a Board
director at Mavi, Yapi Kredi Bank, Hepsiburada (NASDAQ), Koc Financial
Services, Koc Finansman and Sirena Marine.
DP Eurasia is continuing to look to strengthen its Board with an additional
Independent Non-Executive Director to ensure it has the best skills,
experience and capabilities, as well as complying with best practice corporate
governance.
Peter Williams, outgoing Chairman, commented:
"I am very pleased that Ahmet accepted the position as Chairman. He has
already made a significant contribution to the Board since his appointment in
September 2022 and I have no doubt that he will be a very capable Chairman. I
wish him and the business well for the future."
Ahmet Ashaboğlu, incoming Chairman, commented:
"I would like to thank Peter for his work over the last six years and am
pleased to be taking up the role, pending re-appointment, of Chairman of DP
Eurasia at this pivotal time. Since joining in September, I have thoroughly
enjoyed getting to know the business. I have been impressed with the
resilience of its performance through significant inflationary challenges in
the Turkish economy. I firmly believe that we have an opportunity to drive
sustainable and profitable growth and create an exciting future for the
benefit of our people, our franchisees and our shareholders, as well as the
customers and communities we are privileged to serve."
