Australia's Barrick Resources jumps on Brazil rare earth tenement expansion

** Shares of Barrick Resources  EQN.AX  rise as much as 4.2%
to A$0.250, set to gain most since Dec. 5
    ** Mineral explorer says it has applied for a new package of
rare earth clay tenements for "Mata da Corda" project in Patos
de Minas, in Minas Gerais State, Brazil 
    ** Co says it considers the establishment of the Mata da
Corda Project as an important strategic extension of its
recently staked Campo Grande Project in Brazil
    ** Stock has risen 84.6% YTD as of last close
