** Shares of Equinox Resources  EQN.AX  rise as much as
10.9% to A$0.255, marking its highest level since May 1
    ** The mineral explorer completes placement to raise funds
of A$4 million ($2.64 million) 
    ** Co says funds to be used for planned exploration and
development programs at co's Brazilian Rare Earths and Pilbara
Iron Ore projects
    ** 826,315 shares change hands, compared with the 30-day
average volume of 134,399
    ** Stock has fallen 23.3% this year, as of last close
