Italy - Factors to watch on May 24

The following factors could affect Italian markets on Friday.

    ECONOMY
    Reaching a comprehensive deal on how to mobilise revenues
stemming from frozen Russian assets will not be simple, Italy's
Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Thursday ahead of a
G7 finance summit.
    U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Thursday that
she wants market-driven countries to present a "wall of
opposition" to China over its state-driven industrial policies,
a key issue she is pushing at a G7 finance meeting this week.
    
    DEBT
    Treasury announces sale of 6-month BOT bills, with relative
amounts to be auctioned on May 29.
    Italy's Treasury said on Thursday it would sell up to 6 bln
euros in bonds at May 28 auction. 
    Political stability and prudent fiscal policy have helped
lower the premium investors demand to hold Italian government
bonds rather than their German peers, Italy's debt chief Davide
Iacovoni said on Thursday.
    
    COMPANIES
    MAIRE  MTCM.MI 
    Algeria's state-owned Sonatrach signed a $2.3 billion
contract with Maire and U.S. energy technology company Baker
Hughes  BKR.O  for a project in the country's largest gas field,
the Italian engineering firm said on Thursday. Maire subsidiary
Tecnimont, who leads the consortium, is entitled to $1.7 billion
of the overall contract value.     
    
    ENEL  ENEI.MI 
    The energy group plans to increase the production of solar
panels at its factory in Sicily to 3 gigawatt (GW) capacity by
the end of 2025, later than previously expected, documents
published by the Italian utility showed.
    
    INTESA SANPAOLO  ISP.MI 
    Goldman Sachs  GS.N  held a 6.84% indirect stake in Intesa
Sanpaolo as of May 15, of which 5.13% through long positions, a
filing  Italy's market regulator Consob by showed on Thursday.
