Eneos to buy additional stake in Papua New Guinea LNG project from TotalEnergies
Eneos to buy additional stake in Papua New Guinea LNG project from TotalEnergies TOKYO, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Eneos Xplora, a unit of Eneos Holdings 5020.T, said on Tuesday it has agreed to buy an additional 0.49% stake in Papua New Guinea's Papua LNG project from TotalEnergies TTEF.PA, expanding its presence in the country's LNG sector.
The deal is subject to a final investment decision on the project and regulatory approvals, the Japanese company said.
Papua LNG, which will process gas from the Elk-Antelope field in Gulf Province, is designed to produce 5.6 million metric tons of LNG annually.
Eneos Xplora said the deal would strengthen its business base in Papua New Guinea and support stable energy supplies to Japan and other Asian countries.
