Eni extends fuel price cap until the end of the year, CEO says

- Italian energy group Eni ENI.MI will extend its fuel price cap until the end of the year, Chief Executive Claudio Descalzi said on Friday, adding that the level of the cap will depend on market conditions.

The current cap is set at 2.25 euros ($2.52) per litre for diesel and 1.99 euros per litre for petrol.

"As for the level of the cap, ... we will monitor market and price trends, as well as the supplies actually available in relation to our logistics network, and assess it over the course of the period," Descalzi told several Italian newspapers, an Eni spokesperson confirmed.
