Germany urgently working on alternative supplies for PCK refinery, Berlin says

BERLIN, April 27 (Reuters) - Germany is in talks with several oil-exporting countries to urgently secure alternative supplies for PCK Schwedt, a major oil refinery near Berlin, after Russia said it would halt supplies, a German government spokesperson said on Monday.

Russia said last week it would stop the supply of Kazakh crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline to Germany from May 1. PCK Schwedt, which supplies most of the German capital's fuel, relies on Kazakhstan for 17% of its supplies.

The spokesperson added that Germany's oil supplies overall were not in jeopardy.
