Japan's Inpex secures LNG and gas offtake deals for Indonesia's Abadi project

JAKARTA, May 21 (Reuters) - Japan's gas explorer Inpex 1605.T has reached an agreement with BP, PGN, PLN Energi Primer Indonesia and Shell Eastern Trading for offtake from the Abadi LNG Project in Indonesia's Masela Block, according to a company statement reviewed on Thursday.

Inpex has also signed an agreement with Indonesia's Pupuk Indonesia for pipeline natural gas supply from the Abadi LNG Project.

The deal was signed during the Indonesia Petroleum Association's (IPA) conference on Wednesday, although the volume of gas sales was not disclosed.

INPEX is currently advancing the large-scale Abadi LNG Project as its operator through the subsidiary INPEX Masela, in partnership with its joint venture partners PT Pertamina Hulu Energi and Petronas Masela, the company said.

The Abadi LNG project is expected to produce around 1,200 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas, with most allocated to domestic and overseas buyers, said upstream regulator SKK Migas' chairman Djoko Siswanto.
