Italy - Factors to watch on May 4

The following factors could affect Italian markets on Thursday.

    ECONOMY
    April services PMI S&P Global data (0745 GMT).
    Italy posted a state sector budget deficit of 11.7 billion
euros in April compared to a surplus of 6.05 billion euros in
the same month last year, the Treasury said in a statement on
Wednesday.
    
    COMPANIES
    ENEL  ENEI.MI 
    Italy's biggest utility, which is at the centre of a
governance row, confirmed its full-year guidance after reporting
a 22% rise in its adjusted core earnings for the first quarter
on Wednesday.
    
    LEONARDO  LDOF.MI 
    Italy's state-controlled defence and aerospace group
Leonardo posted lower first-quarter earnings, but reported a
jump in orders and confirmed financial targets for 2023.
     
    ENERGY
    Italy's regulated household gas prices rose by 22.4% in
April compared to the previous month, the country's energy
authority ARERA said in a statement on Wednesday.
    
    TELECOM ITALIA (TIM)  TLIT.MI 
    The Italian phone group's board meets at 1200 GMT to approve
the company's response to multi-billion bids for TIM's landline
grid as top investor Vivendi  VIV.PA  calls into question CEO
Pietro Labriola's strategy to revamp the group.

    The Italian bank will use restructuring charges it is set to
book this year to fund voluntary exits after receiving some
1,900 requests from staff late last year of which it met less
