Italy's Bending Spoons to acquire Eventbrite for $500 million

MILAN, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Italian tech company Bending Spoons will buy ticketing service provider Eventbrite EB.N for about $500 million, the companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

DETAILS OF THE DEAL

Eventbrite shareholders will receive $4.50 per share, an 82% premium to the company’s 60-day volume-weighted average price as of Dec. 1.

The transaction, unanimously approved by Eventbrite’s board, is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals.

Eventbrite will become a privately held company after the deal closes.

KEY CONTEXT

Milan-based Bending Spoons has grown by buying and revamping storied digital firms such as file-sharing service WeTransfer and note-taking tool Evernote. Earlier this year it agreed to buy video-streaming platform Vimeo and web portal AOL. It was valued at $11 billion in a funding round in October.
