Wall Street's main indexes slipped on Wednesday ahead of an inflation reading
later in the week that would influence bets on when the U.S. Federal Reserve
will start cutting interest rates.  .N

38,858.67. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.22% at 5,067.05 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.53% at 15,949.718.
