** Shares of Australia's Everest Metals  EMC.AX  rise as
much as ~5.3% to A$0.10, marking its biggest intraday pct gain
since Oct. 16
    ** Stock posts its highest level since Nov. 1
    ** Mineral explorer signs memorandum of understanding (MoU)
with Edith Cowan University Mineral Recovery Research Centre in
Western Australia 
    ** Adds MoU to collaborate on direct rubidium extraction
from Mt Edon LCT Project in Western Australia
    ** Says intellectual property rights from project to be
owned by EMC
    ** Rubidium is used in glasses and ceramics, ion engines for
space vehicles, among others
    ** 160,912 shares traded as of 0231 GMT, vs 30-day average
volume of 90,470 shares
    ** Stock up ~20.3% YTD, as of last close
