SINGAPORE, July 31 (Reuters) - Taiwan's Formosa
Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) 6505.TW will shut one crude
distillation unit (CDU) and its delayed coker unit (DCU) for
maintenance starting November, a company spokesperson said on
Monday.
Both units will be shut starting Nov. 1, company
spokesperson KY Lin said.
The No. 2 CDU will be back online Nov. 30, while the
36,000-barrel per day (bpd) DCU will be back online on Jan. 2.
Some downstream units that receive feedstock from the DCU will
be shut as well.
The refinery is currently running at around 84% of its
capacity, or around 450,000 bpd, Lin said.
This run rate expected to continue for August as the
company's DCU will continue to be operated at 70% even after
repairs were
completed recently
on squeezed production margins.
FPCC operates three CDUs, with a total crude processing
capacity of 540,000 bpd.
