Fulcrum Metals plc / EPIC: FMET / Market: AIM / Sector: Mining
Reach Announcement
22 September 2025
Fulcrum Metals plc
("Fulcrum" or the "Company")
Fulcrum appoints AP Kane & Associates Ltd as Consultants
Fulcrum Metals plc (AIM:FMET), a company pioneering the use of innovative
technology to recover precious and critical metals from mine waste, has
engaged AP Kane & Associates Ltd ("Kane & Associates") as independent
consultants to advance Fulcrum's Teck Hughes and Sylvanite Tailings projects
in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
Key Points
· Fulcrum has exclusive rights to Extrakt's cyanide free technology for
gold mine waste sites in Kirkland Lake and Timmins, and their initial test
work is delivering high gold recoveries from its Teck Hughes and Sylvanite
tailing projects located near Kirkland Lake's historic "Mile of Gold" which
produced over 24 million ounces of gold, leaving several mine waste sites.
· Andrew Kane, the Principal of Kane & Associates, brings more than
30 years of Ontario mining industry experience and had senior roles with
Ontario Ministry of Mines.
· Andrew is a highly regarded specialist in stakeholder consultation,
permitting, and project management, with an environmentally and socially
sustainable approach to exploration and mine development projects.
· Andrew's comprehensive network of contacts across government,
industry, and Indigenous communities, will help Fulcrum execute on corporate
strategy to advance the Teck Hughes project to construction decision, address
complementary opportunities at the nearby Sylvanite project and cross sector
growth opportunities.
Ryan Mee, Chief Executive Officer of Fulcrum Metals plc, commented:
"We are appointing Kane & Associates at a pivotal time for our Kirkland
Lake tailing projects as we advance Teck-Hughes towards production and
consider next steps at Sylvanite.
Andrew brings a wealth of experience from stakeholder engagement through
permitting, sustainable mine project development and management with contacts
across Ontario's government and industry. His approach aligns well with
Fulcrum's strategy for responsible resource recovery in the mining sector."
Andrew Kane, Kane & Associates, said:
"Fulcrum's Teck-Hughes and Sylvanite Tailings projects in Kirkland Lake excite
me. Fulcrum is an early mover on Ontario's new Mineral Recovery Permit and are
advancing their projects in the right way. They consulted with the Apitipi
Anicinapek Nation earlier this year and secured an agreement to work on their
Traditional Lands. Fulcrum's pioneering approach with novel cyanide-free
techniques and other environmentally aware strategies helped secure that
agreement. I am confident that Fulcrum, working with the disruptive Extrakt
technology, could deliver a master class in Ontario for processing tailings."
Appointment of Specialist Consultants
The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of both Andrew Kane and
Kane & Associates as specialist consultants to assist with the development
of its Teck-Hughes and Sylvanite Tailings projects in Kirkland Lake, Ontario
and with its corporate growth strategies.
Andrew Kane, the Principal of Kane & Associates, brings more than 30 years
of both public and private sector experience in Ontario's mining industry
including senior roles of Mineral Exploration and Development Consultant for
the Ontario Ministry of Mines, and as a Natural Resources and Business
Development Manager for the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development
Corporation.
During his time in the Ontario mining industry Andrew has helped several
successful project launches, cultivated joint venture and cross sector
opportunities, develop partnerships with First Nation and Indigenous
communities, and advised and consulted on successful grants and permitting for
environmentally and socially sustainable projects.
Andrew is a highly regarded specialist in indigenous, government and public
consultations, permitting, identifying growth opportunities across the sector,
and brings a comprehensive network of contacts. The appointment is a pivotal
step to support Fulcrum in developing and executing its growth plans.
