UK's Gamma Communications shares jump on takeover talks

** Shares of British telecom firm Gamma Communications GAMA.L closed up 8.8% at 1015p
** Gamma confirmed on Friday that it was in early talks with Epiris and Oakley Capital-Giacom consortium for a possible takeover

** Sky News reported earlier in the day that Oakley Capital along with Giacom is considering the takeover and break-up of GAMA for about 1 billion pounds ($1.34 billion)

** YTD, GAMA stock has risen 6.6%
