Europe Distillates-Diesel refining margins jump

LONDON, Oct 7 (Reuters) - European diesel refining margins rose over 10% on Wednesday as the International Energy Agency and European Union discussed a coordinated release of strategic oil stocks, expected to form part of emergency supply measures first pledged in March.
Low-sulphur gasoil futures LGOc1 traded at $75.23 a barrel above Brent crude futures LCOc1 at 1725 GMT, $7.08 higher than the previous close.
The International Energy Agency and European Union on Wednesday were discussing an oil and diesel stocks release proposed last week with diplomats and analysts expecting it to include volumes pledged in March.
France will release 10 million barrels of diesel from its strategic stocks, Franceinfo radio reported on Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.
Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu will announce formally the release during a national address scheduled on Wednesday evening.
US distillate stockpiles USOILD=ECI, which include diesel and heating oil, were little changed last week at 105.1 million barrels, versus expectations in a Reuters poll of analysts for a 2.1-million-barrel drop, the Energy Information Administration said. EIA/S
