Wall Street's main indexes erased early gains on Friday as U.S. debt ceiling
talks between the White House and House Republican lawmakers were paused,
dampening hopes that a deal could be reached soon to avoid a calamitous
default. .N 
    
    At 13:32 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.24% at
33,456.92. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.12% at 4,193.11 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.22% at 12,660.642.
