POLITICS
Giorgia Meloni's defeat in a justice reform referendum has thrust the Italian leader into the toughest phase of her premiership, with her authority weakened, her reform programme in tatters and no easy way to regain the initiative.
Two officials quit Italy's justice ministry on Tuesday and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called on a minister to resign, the day after the government's resounding defeat in the referendum.
DEBT
The Italian Treasury said on Tuesday it would sell up to 8.5 billion euros ($9.83 billion)of 5-year and 10-year bonds at an auction on March 27.
Treasury sells BTP Short and BTPei bonds. Subscriptions close at 1000 GMT.

Italy's third-largest bank said on Tuesday its board had chosen Fabrizio Palermo as its candidate for chief executive, pitting the head of Rome‑based utility ACEA against current CEO Luigi Lovaglio in a race to lead the lender.
INWIT INWT.MI
Shares in Italy's largest mobile telecom towers company INWIT INWT.MI rose as much as 10% on Tuesday after newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore reported that French fund Ardian was still working with Brookfield on a potential bid to take it private.
(*) Swisscom SCMN.S said on Wednesday its Italian business Fastweb + Vodafone would terminate its master service agreement (MSA) with INWIT.
