Italy - Factors to watch on November 12

The following factors could affect Italian markets on Wednesday.

POLITICS

Italy faces two competing nationwide strikes over the next few weeks as rivalry between trade unions resumes, ending a rare alliance that last month powered one of the country's largest worker protests in years.

Greece, Cyprus, Spain and Italy will be eligible for help dealing with migratory pressures under a new EU mechanism when the bloc's pact on migration and asylum enters into force in mid-2026, the European Commission said on Tuesday.

ECONOMY

ISTAT releases September industrial output data (0900 GMT); bulletin on the state of the economy in September and October (1000 GMT).

DEBT

Treasury sells 8.5 billion euros 12-month BOT bills. Subscriptions close at 1000 GMT.

Private equity firm Permira is in talks with China's HongShan Capital Group (HSG) for the sale of the luxury sneaker maker, in a potential deal that would give the group a total value of above 2.5 billion euros, several Italian newspapers reported on Wednesday. Golden Goose is being advised by JP Morgan.

The state-controlled defence group said on Tuesday it had  subscribed to rocket-maker Avio's capital increase, fully exercising its rights related to its 19.3% stake.

The rocket maker has reached a deal with logistics company MVN to outsource its logistics activities and the management of its warehouses for just over 120,000 euros ($139,944.00), daily Il Messaggero reported on Wednesday, citing the deal's contract. The move needs to be approved by the government, under its so-called golden powers.

(*) The power company posted on Wednesday a 4% year-on-year decline in its nine-month core profit to 1.73 billion euros, due to lower hydroelectric production.

The group will present its strategic plan update in Milan on Wednesday, with CEO Renato Mazzoncini at 1045 GMT.

Nextchem, the energy transition unit of the Italian engineering group, aims to go public, its managing director said, adding the listing would happen when Maire considers the market valuation is sufficiently high.

JP Morgan on Wednesday initiated coverage of the luxury carmaker with an 'overweight' rating and a target price of 394 euros.

AEFFE AEF.MI

The fashion group on Tuesday posted a 25% decline in revenues in the first nine months of the year and a loss at the Ebitda adjusted level of 7.6 million euros.

The publication of the full results has been postponed due to a crisis-resolution procedure filed by Aeffe and its subsidiary Pollini. The preparation of the recovery plan requested by the procedure is still underway, the company said.

(*) The drug maker said late on Tuesday that its core profit for 2025 would come in at the lower end of its expectations, citing challenging economic conditions and negative currency effects.
