POLAND-GERMANY
The foreign ministers of Poland and Germany will take part in the German-Polish Forum in Berlin with a joint press conference scheduled for at 1200, while the defence ministers of both countries will meet in Warsaw to sign a bilateral agreement on defence cooperation with statements planned for 13.35.
ENERGY
Closing negotiations on the final agreement with U.S. firms Westinghouse and Bechtel to build Poland's first nuclear power plant is highly dependent on the selection of a partner for the second plant, Rzeczpospolita daily reported citing sources.
TRANSPORT
Expensive fuel and rising wages are killing Polish transport companies, which are losing out due to staff shortages, cheaper Ukrainian competition and EU regulations, Rzeczpospolita daily reported, citing a not yet published report by the Polish Economic Institute (PIE).
TRAINS
Polish train maker Pesa and Japan's Hitachi will jointly bid for a contract to deliver high-speed trains worth at least 2.5 billion zlotys ($685.34 million) to PKP Intercity, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
