UPDATE 1-UK Stocks-Factors to watch on August 26 Adds news items, updates futures
Aug 26 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.3%.
* ENERGY PRICE: Most British households will see their energy costs rise from October after energy regulator Ofgem announced a 4% hike in its domestic price cap as the war in Iran pushes up wholesale costs.
* INFLATION: Public inflation expectations in Britain rose in August, changing course after falling in recent months, a survey from U.S. bank Citi and pollsters YouGov showed on Tuesday.
* JOBS: Over a third of British employers have reduced the number of entry-level jobs open to younger workers over the past year due in part to increased use of artificial intelligence and other forms of automation, a survey showed on Wednesday.
* OIL: Oil prices dropped about 2%, adding to the previous session's losses, on fresh hopes the Strait of Hormuz could reopen after Iran said it had resumed talks with neighbour Oman on managing the strategic waterway.
* GOLD: Gold slips after scaling a more than three-month high in the previous session, as investors awaited a key U.S. inflation report to gauge the Federal Reserve's interest-rate path.
* COPPER: Copper prices rose to a six-month high, supported by supply fears on dwindling LME inventories and upbeat economic sentiment.
