The tech-heavy Nasdaq and the S&P 500 edged up amid choppy trading on Tuesday as
investors geared up for quarterly earnings reports from megacap technology
companies Alphabet and Microsoft, and a rate hike by the Federal Reserve. .N 
    
    At 11:42 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.17% at
35,472.52. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.30% at 4,568.31 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.71% at 14,158.384.
