    COVID-19
    Italy reported 42,081 COVID-19 related cases on Sunday, down
from 50,534 the day before, the health ministry said, while the

    POLITICS
    The Italian government has approved a package of measures
worth around 8 billion euros ($9.1 billion) to shield consumers
and companies from rising energy prices and to help the auto

    DEBT
    Treasury announces sale of 6-month BOT bills, with relative
amounts to be auctioned on Feb. 24.
    Treasury said on Friday it would offer up to 3 bln euros in
bonds at Feb 23 auction and it would cancel inflation-linked
bond auction scheduled for the same day after new syndicated.

    TELECOM ITALIA  TLIT.MI 
    Italy's former phone monopoly on Sunday dismissed as
"unfounded and harmful for the group" a newspaper report
concerning financial targets in a plan new Chief Executive

    KKR could block any move by Telecom Italia to carve out a
network company by vetoing a transfer of last-mile landline unit

    Targets for revenues and EBITDA under the business plan new
CEO Pietro Labriola is working on will point to negative growth
until 2024, Il Messaggero reported on Sunday, adding that some
directors favoured more ambitious goals and the board could

    The holding company of Italy's Agnelli family on Friday said
it had paid 746 million euros ($845 million) to settle a dispute
linked to the transfer of its legal headquarters to the

    PIRELLI  PIRC.MI 
    Pirelli could have reached a deal before the end of March to
refinance bank debt maturing June this year for an overall 1.6
billion euros, Il Sole 24 Ore said on Saturday. The tyre group
already flagged last year its intention to refinance the credit
line.
    
    UNICREDIT  CRDI.MI , INTESA SANPAOLO  ISP.MI 
    Addressing speculation that a plunge in the bank's stock
price had left Credit Suisse  CSGN.S  exposed to a takeover,
Chief Executive Gottstein said the bank "has many strengths that
arouse interest among rivals. But we want to play to our
strengths ourselves, both nationally and internationally".

    BANCO BPM  BAMI.MI 
    Italy's third-largest bank said on Friday that, following
the latest regulatory changes, it would restart buying tax
credits stemming from state incentives for energy efficiency.
Banco BPM, which had halted purchases when large-scale frauds
prompted the government to change the rules for such credits,
confirmed a target of buying 3.5 billion euros in total. It has
so far bought 900 million euros, its CEO said this month.
