No crude-for-LPG swap deal with Japan, Indian official says

NEW DELHI, April 1 (Reuters) - India did not have a crude-for-LPG swap deal with Japan, an Indian government official said on Wednesday, citing rules which did not allow such crude oil exports by New Delhi.

"I am not aware. Our rules do not allow crude oil and LPG exports," Sujata Sharma, joint secretary in the oil ministry, said.

Reuters reported last week that Inpex 1605.T may consider supplying India with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in exchange for naphtha and crude oil.
