POLITICS
Italy expects its tax burden to be broadly unchanged at
42.3% of gross domestic product (GDP) through 2027, a new
Treasury document shows, despite Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's
tax-cutting pledges.
DEBT
Italy posted a state sector budget deficit of 5.4 billion
euros ($5.57 billion) in January, compared to a shortfall of
5.55 billion euros in the same month of last year, the Treasury
said in a statement on Monday.
COMPANIES

UniCredit will formally notify its offer for Banco BPM to
the Italian government under so-called "golden power" rules on
Tuesday or Wednesday, Il Corriere della Sera daily reported on
Tuesday.
FERRAGAMO SFER.MI
The Italian luxury goods group on Monday said CEO Marco
Gobbetti would step down at the start of March after little over
three years in charge.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
Sales in Italy fell by 15.9% year-on-year in January versus
a 5.86% drop for the whole Italian market, Transport ministry
data showed on Monday. The automaker's market share, however,
improved to just over 31% from 23.25% in December, Reuters
calculations indicated.

The Italian club signed Newcastle United centre back Lloyd
Kelly on loan for the rest of the season, both clubs said on
Monday. Juventus also sealed a deal with Fiorentina to loan out
the midfielder Nicolo Fagioli.

The Rome club won 2-1 away at Cagliari on Monday and
regained the fourth spot in Serie A standings.
