India's Bharti Airtel misses profit view on higher network costs Nov 5 (Reuters) - India's second-largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel BRTI.NS posted a smaller-than-expected second-quarter profit on Thursday as higher network operating costs offset gains from subscriber additions and users upgrading to costlier plans.
The company's consolidated net profit rose to 88.88 billion ($940.45 million) for the quarter ended Sept. 30, from 67.92 billion rupees a year ago.
Analysts, on average, expected a profit of 96.73 billion rupees, according to LSEG-compiled data.
