** Shares of electric air taxi co Joby Aviation JOBY.N rise nearly 5.4% to about $15.7 premarket

** JOBY initiates power-on testing of its first FAA-conforming aircraft to be built for Type Inspection Authorization (TIA)

** TIA testing is part of final stage of FAA type certification process

** Co can now begin conducting hardware and software integration tests in preparation for "for credit" flight testing

** As of last close, shares up 81.6% YTD
