Journeo plc
("Journeo", the "Company" or the "Group")
US$1.2 million purchase order for MBTA transit display programme in Boston
Journeo plc (AIM: JNEO), a leading provider of intelligent systems for
transport networks and critical national infrastructure, is pleased to
announce that its subsidiary, Infotec, has received a purchase order valued at
approximately US$1.2 million from Outfront Media Group ("OFM") to supply
display systems for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ("MBTA")
network in Boston, USA.
The MBTA is the primary public transport operator for the Greater Boston area
and operates one of the largest transit networks in the United States,
supporting approximately 880,000 passenger journeys each weekday. The network
also includes the third busiest light rail system in the US, serving annual
ridership of more than 270 million passenger journeys.
This order will allow MBTA to benefit from a newly developed display format,
designed and engineered by the Group's Journeo Design Centre. The solution
incorporates high-performance display technology and embedded systems to
optimise operational reliability, enable remote diagnostics and support
long-term asset performance in demanding transit environments.
Work has already commenced and deliveries are expected to complete during
2026.
This order further strengthens the Group's growing presence in North America,
following the successful deployment of platform display systems for the
Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York City. The award reflects the
Group's strategy of supporting customers across the full lifecycle of display
systems, from design and manufacture through to ongoing performance management
and local service support.
Russ Singleton, Chief Executive Officer of Journeo plc, commented:
"This order demonstrates the continued expansion of our North American
operations and reflects the strength of our design, engineering and support
capabilities in passenger transport environments. We are pleased to support
OFM and the MBTA with a solution specifically developed to meet the
operational demands of major transit networks."
