POLITICS

Key wins for Italy's opposition in southern regional elections on Sunday and Monday show cracks in the ruling conservative bloc's dominance, raising doubts over Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's ability to secure a second term in the next national vote, say political observers.

DEBT

Treasury sells 7.5 billion euros 6-month BOT bills. Subscriptions close at 1000 GMT.

BANKS

Moody's on Tuesday raised the credit ratings of a number of Italian banks, following the upgrade of Italy's sovereign debt on Friday.

Among the main banks affected, UniCredit CRDI.MI, Intesa Sanpaolo ISP.MI, Banco BPM BAMI.MI and BPER Banca EMII.MI all saw their Baseline Credit Assessments raised to baa2 from baa3.

COMPANIES

ENI ENI.MI

The Italian energy group's CEO Claudio Descalzi met with    Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to review investments in the African country and discuss new initiatives, ENI said on Tuesday.

Separately, Eni also said it had signed an agreement with Argentina's state oil producer YPF to acquire a 50% stake and operatorship in the exploration block OFF-5, in Uruguay's offshore.

The Regulatory Asset Base scheme (RAB) will be applied to the carbon capture, transport and storage project of Eni and Snam, confirming expectations that the project will be treated in Italy as a regulated activity, MF daily said on Wednesday without citing sources.

The Italian shipbuilder said on Tuesday that, under an agreement with the U.S. Navy, it will continue building two frigates and halt construction of four others.

The CEO of Italy's top insurer, Philippe Donnet, and Chairman Andrea Sironi are set to leave by the end of the year, Il Giornale reported on Wednesday, adding that Generali denied negotiations are underway.

The Italian bank said on Tuesday it would launch a takeover bid for all shares of the Italian asset manager Solutions Capital Management SCM.MI setting the offer price at 4.61 euros per share, cum dividend.

JUVENTUS JUVE.MI

The Turin-based club's substitute Jonathan David struck a stoppage-time goal to give his side a 3-2 Champions League win over Norway's Bodo/Glimt inside the Arctic Circle on Tuesday as the Italians grabbed their first victory in this season's competition.

Rome, Cabinet Undersecretary Giovanbattista Fazzolari is interviewed at round-table discussion on "New energies, investments, networks and relationships" (1530 GMT).

Rome, business lobby Confindustria presents 2025 report on Italian industry "Manufacturing in transformation – will it remain competitive?" (0900 GMT).

Rome, 'Italian-French Dialogues for Europe' "From Dialogue to Results: The Strength of Italian-French Cooperation within the European Framework" (0830 GMT); expected attendees include French Ambassador to Italy Martin Briens, Italian Ambassador to France Emanuela D'Alessandro, Edison EDNn.MI CEO Nicola Monti.

Rome, Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) hosts the semi-annual meeting of the European Competition Network (to November 27).
