PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
The candidate of Poland's ruling Civic Coalition (KO), Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, leads opinion polls ahead of the May 18 presidential election with support of 30.4%, according to poll by IBRiS published on Wednesday by Polityka weekly.
Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by Poland's main opposition party Law and Justice (PiS), has 24.9% support. He is followed by the far-right Confederation party candidate Slawomir Mentzen with 12.9%.
DATA
Poland's statistics office will publish retail sales data for March at 0800. Analysts polled by Reuters estimate it rose 0.3% year-on-year after falling 0.5% in February.
DEBT
The Polish Finance Ministry will hold an auction of bonds worth 7-12 billion zlotys ($1.9 billion-$3.2 billion) at 0930.
FOREIGN POLICY
On Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski will present in parliament information on the tasks of Polish foreign policy in 2025.

If KGHM's expert reports show that the salt mining project under Puck in northern Poland is profitable, extraction could begin within eight to ten years. A decision on the matter could be made in 2026, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
