MEETING WITH THE PRIME MINISTER OF ICELAND
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will meet with Iceland Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir on Wednesday. Discussions will focus on economic cooperation and the current geopolitical situation in Europe and the strategic Arctic region, the Polish government press office reported.
ENERGY MINISTER
The Polish energy minister, who is visiting the U.S., said that Europe must completely abandon Russian gas. He also announced that an agreement was signed at the U.S. Ministry of Energy on Tuesday to develop a Polish small modular reactor project, the PAP news agency reported.
BUDGET DEFICIT
Poland had a budget deficit of 275.6 billion zlotys ($76.97 billion) in 2025, which equals to 95.4% of the planned amount, the finance ministry said on Tuesday.
DEBT
On Wednesday at 1030 the Polish Ministry of Finance will offer bonds worth 8-12 billion zlotys (2.24 billion-$3.36 billion)
KGHM
Polish state-controlled copper and silver miner KGHM KGH.WA said on Tuesday that its supervisory board appointed Remigiusz Paszkiewicz as the chief executive officer of its management board.
