Feb 24 (Reuters) - Polish state-controlled copper and silver miner KGHM KGH.WA said on Tuesday that its supervisory board appointed Remigiusz Paszkiewicz as the chief executive officer of its management board.
KEY CONTEXT
• Paszkiewicz was appointed to the company's Supervisory Board in late January following a motion submitted by the State Treasury. He was delegated acting CEO later that month following the dismissal of former CEO Andrzej Szydlo.
• He served as CEO of Grupa Przemyslowa Baltic, a steel construction firm serving wind, shipbuilding and nuclear energy sectors, since August 2025. He previously led PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, Poland's railway infrastructure operator.
• "As a first priority, I intend to focus on strengthening corporate governance within the Capital Group and improving the efficiency of our operations, both domestically and internationally," Paszkiewicz said in a press release.
• KGHM is one of the world's largest copper and silver producers.
